I have four Black and Decker 18-Volt Firestorm batteries. I've been charging them on the simple wall charger for about three hours each. They charge but I just think they should last a little longer than they do in my drill, circular saw, flashlight, and weed eater. (all interchangable black and decker 18 volt products) Am I charging them too much or too little?

Answer
If you are using a charger that is intended for the battery, you may leave it on cradle overnight to make sure you are charging it at full capacity.

If you are using a substitute charger, have it charged longer but check if the battery will get hotter than normal. If it won't get hot, have it charged overnight.

Can you run a 18 volt battery weed-eater on a 24 volt battery?

Ricky A

I just got an 18 volt black and decker battery weed-eater with 3 batteries.
I have 6 24 volt batteries that came with other various black and decker tools i bought. I would like to know if it is possible to run my weed-eater off of my 24 volt batteries. They have the exact same ends just the 24 volts are taller.

If it even works will it damage either the weed-eater or the batteries?

Answer
it will burn up the motor.
